Our attention has been drawn to the false news going round that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Dapo Abiodun, mocked the people of Ogun West Senatorial District during a rally.
We want to state categorically that this is a lie from the pit of hell, and it’s being peddled by desperate politicians to create ill-will towards Prince Abiodun, especially coming immediately after the immensely successful tour of Ado-Odo Ota by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and our candidate.
We challenge our detractors to name where, when and how such remarks was made. Such fake news is nothing but gutter politicking at its worst. We are happy that our party leaders and members from different parts of Ogun State, including Ogun West Senatorial District, know verily that the said remarks are not even the thought process of our candidate, let alone him uttering such indecent words.
Our campaign has been issue-based and we do not have time to dissipate any energy on such frivolities. The authors of such fake news and their sponsors should go and campaign and stop spreading lies that could create disharmony in our dear state.
Ogun State, after 43 years of its creation, has come a long way and there is no room for desperate politicians who are bent on playing the ethnic, tribal or religious cards. We urge our opponents to desist from this devilish acts of deliberate falsehood and come to the reality of the overwhelming acceptance of Prince Dapo Abiodun by all segments of Ogun populace regardless of tribe, tongue or religion.
We appeal to the general public to disregard such fake news totality as it has no iota of truth in it. Prince Dapo Abiodun has and has demonstrated respect for everyone’s and will talk no ill of any section of Ogun State.
