The Emir of Okuta in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, HRH Alh.Sero Abubakar has expressed his delight over the decision of the Kwara PDP to cede Power to Kwara North in 2023.
Alh. Sero Abubakar made this known when he received the leadership of the Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party PDP led by the Senate President, Sen. Abubakar Bukola Saraki at his Palace on Saturday, in Okuta.
It will be recalled that the
Senate President and National leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Bukola Saraki and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State recently signed a pact with traditional and political leaders from the northern part of the state, consenting to a shift of power to the north by 2023.
It was however agreed that the positions of the Secretary to the state Government (SSG) and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and some other strategic appointments will be zoned to the region provided the PDP emerge victorious at the 2019 General elections.
Speaking at his palace on Saturday, The Emir of Okuta applauded the ingenuity of the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki for providing the leadership that brokered the Pact.
He noted with great satisfaction and pleasure, the promise by the PDP that strategic positions including that of the Secretary to the Kwara State Government SSG, Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and other key appointments will be ceded to the zone to Kwara North on emerging victorious at the Polls.
Speaking further, the Emir however condemned the action of those he described as imported thugs and hired miscreants and not members of the community, for masterminding the chaos on arrival of the PDP leadership to the community.
The Emir dissociated the community from the unfortunate incident and reassured the Kwara PDP leadership of their continued support.
Also present at the Palace of the Emir on Saturday, include the Kwara State Governor Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, The Kwara PDP Governorship Candidate Rt. Hon. Razak Atunwa, the Kwara North PDP Senatorial Candidate Hon. Zakari Mohammed, the Director General Mandate 2019, Kwara PDP Campaign Council, Prof. Abubakar Olarewaju Sulaiman and a host of other PDP Stakeholders.
