· Says “stop work” order still subsists

The Kayode Fayemi-led administration in Ekiti State has reiterated its
commitment to maintain and sustain the original aesthetic design of
the State, particularly the state capital, Ado-Ekiti.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban
Development, Mr. Ademiloye Fasiku made this revelation during a
control and enforcement exercise embarked upon by the Inspectorate
Department of the Ministry. The Permanent Secretary visited some
encroached government lands and encumbered petrol stations within
Ado-Ekiti metropolis.

Mr. Fasiku, who assured that no stone would be left unturned in
ensuring that all land developers across the State fully comply with
laid down regulations on land development which would assist the state
in sustaining the aesthetic value of the state capital that is fast
assuming the status of a cosmopolitan city.

Fasisiku who maintained that the initial “stop work” notices
earlier served on some land developers still subsist, urged the
affected developers, particularly the encumbered petrol stations to
comply with the government directive, not only in their own interest
but in the interest of the general public, to forestall unnecessary
loss of lives and properties of people living in the vicinity.

He listed the affected petrol stations to include Chief Remi
Oguntuase’s Petrol Station at Irona, Tetra/Abbey Filling Station
situated besides Anisulowo Hotel in Ajilosun area, Alhaji
Akinbami-owned NIPCO Petrol Station located along Ajilosun Road,
Buntop Filling Station at Odo-Ado, and Strive Energy located at Ijigbo
area.

Others, according to the Permanent Secretary are Abound Petrol
Station close to Tolu Pakad Pharmaceautical store, Similoluwa, Iworoko
road, Faglo Petrol Station situated along Iworoko road, and Police
Acquisition Site on Ilawe Road where some hectares of land had been
illegally acquired and cleared.
