The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, attended the Kosofe stakeholders’ forum at the multipurpose hall in Centre for Management Development (CMD), Shangisha.
The stakeholders’ forum, a town hall meeting designed as part of the campaign programme of APC Lagos East Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Bayo Osinowo. Lagos East Senatorial district, which covers five local governments and 11 local council development areas, includes Kosofe where Hon. Osinowo is presently representing at the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA, Kosofe 1). According to the Director-General of Bayo Osinowo campaign organization, Apostle Charles Odugbesan, the stakeholders’ forum will also be held in Somolu, Ikorodu, Epe and Ibeju-Lekki.
The arrival of Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu’s entourage to the venue was greeted by dozens of political praise singers as many politicians from Kosofe welcomed the great friend and family of Agboyi-Ketu, Kosofe and Ikosi-Isheri.
While welcoming the mammoth crowd to the air-conditioned hall, Hon. Tunde Buraimoh of LAHA (Kosofe 2) showed his appreciation for the attendance of political, community, religious and traditional leaders who, despite the short notice, made it to the forum. Students’ Union, artisans, teachers, NURTW, people with disabilities, Hausa, Igbo and South-South communities were also at the eventful forum which provided the veteran legislator, Hon. Osinowo, an opportunity to give account of his stewardship as a state legislator and urge to do more at the red chamber in Abuja, as a federal lawmaker.
Council Executive Chairmen, Hon. Afolabi Sofola (Kosofe), Engr. AbdulFatai Oyesanya (Ikosi-Isheri) and Mayor Dele Osinowo (Agboyi-Ketu) are also at the Shangisha venue of the forum as thousands of politicians from the areas were in their various uniformed attire.
The Council Mayor of Somolu, when asked about his interest in Kosofe, said Somolu and Kosofe are like ‘thunder and lightening’, inseparable. “If you can remember, Kosofe was carved out of the old Somolu Local Government. So, Somolu, Bariga, Kosofe, Agboyi-Ketu and Ikosi-Isheri are still together politically, econonomically as we share of lot of things in common and Hon. Bayo Osinowo belongs to us all”, Dullar said.
