The house of Assembly candidate of the APC in Irepodun/Ifelodun constituency two, Hakeem Jamiu aspiration received major boost today as a prominent chieftain of Igbemo, Chief Boladale Micheal joins the APC. The chief who defected from the opposition PDP said his former party which does not reward hard work is dead in the area. In his words, he said, “Today is a unique day. I am joining the party on the day the administration of John Kayode Fayemi clocks 100 days in office. I left the PDP because the party fails to recognise my past struggle. Also, seeing that the party, APC picked a son of the soil as candidate for the house of Assembly, I had no choice but to support my origin. PDP is dead in this town. Igbemo is a no go area for the PDP. All our candidates in the APC will emerge victorious after the election”. He declared.
The House of Assembly candidate in the constituency, Hakeem Jamiu urge the people of the town to show appreciation for the good gesture extended by the governor to the town by voting all APC candidate at the polls. “I am happy seeing people here today. The governor is delighted with Igbemo people. He has approved the repair of bridges along our roads. The repair will start by February 1st. He has promised to do more If we can give his party, the APC our votes come February 16 and March 3rd of this year.” the candidate said.
Receiving the defector, the party chairman at the local government level expressed happiness over the party’s cohesion in the town as he said he wishes to change his hometown to Igbemo Ekiti. He expressed satisfaction that the party will not dissapoint in the forth coming election.
A prominent leader from the town, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun admonished the people to be more united. He canvassed for support for the administration of John Kayode Fayemi as he appreciates the governor for including some roads linking the town with neighbouring towns in the budget.
Another prominent leader of the APC who was present, Sam Omowummi urged the people to support the government of the APC. In his words, “I am to remind you of the forth coming elections. If you recall, the votes we gave the government of JKF has earned us some great things. Let’s endeavour to do more to ensure victory for all candidates of the APC during the next election.” he said.
The house of Representatives candidate of the APC, Hon. Sola Fatoba who could not hide his joy said Igbemo is his second home hence, would not do anything to undermine her interest if voted into the green chamber. “Igbemo is my second home. With the governor doing extremely well, I can ensure that I will do well for Igbemo people after being voted in as Rep member.” he said.
