The Stakeholders of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Lagos Chapter met on Friday at its Maryland Secretariat to discuss way forward for the party ahead of the 2019 elections.
In attendance were all the State Executive members of the party, candidates, local government chairmen, women and youth leaders.
The State Chairman of the Party, Barr Nasir Adewale Bolaji tasks the candidates on the needs to work very hard in the forthcoming elections, adding that while campaigning, it must be peaceful.
The Governorship candidate of the party, Mr Babatunde Gbadamosi called on other candidates of the party on the need to work with him in order to achieve a resounding victory at the general polls, stating that, ADP will form the next government in Lagos, he told the gathering that discussions are ongoing with other candidates who may adopt him as a consensus candidate to face the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (ADP), Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
According to the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Prince Adelaja Adeoye, who addressed pressmen after the event, he said that ADP’s State wide campaign will kick off in the coming days, to enable the party present it’s programmes and manifesto to all Lagosians, we will take our campaign to every nook and cranny of Lagos in the remaining days.
Our campaign will be very modern and robust, we are going to make use of physical campaign and technology to reach the over 25 million people living in Lagos, we won’t leave any stone unturned in the forthcoming elections, Adeoye noted.
Lagos State house of Assembly candidate from Oshodi Isolo, Mr Olajide Oseni said that, ADP is the credible alternative which Lagosians have accepted, he laid emphasis on the need to guide against vote theft by those who wants to rig, he stressed further that, his party ADP is the darling of all electorate in his constituency, several other candidates also share same view by stating that Lagosians are ready to vote for ADP enmass.
The State Woman Leader of the Party, Alhaja Yetunde Dosunmu Atobajeun said that, it is important for all women in Lagos to take this advantage and vote for ADP at the polls, that the party’s programmes for women is the best, she said ADP will enable more women participation in government.
Adewale however called on the Commissioner of Police Mr Imohimi Edgal to provide adequate security to political parties and electorate during the electioneering campaign and polls. He assured the CP of ADP’s collaboration in areas that can enhance peaceful, free and fair elections.
