Barely 72 hours after hundreds of bigwigs and members of the Social Democratic Party led by Hon. Omidele Kazeem (Omikaz) joined the Peoples Democratic Party in Olaoluwa local government, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi yesterday wooed scores of another SDP members in Ayedire local government, Osun State for PDP.
Playing host to the SDP members from Ward 4, Oke Osun, Ayedire local government at his residence in the local government, Ogunbiyi affirmed that PDP is the pathway to political liberation of lwoland and appealed to the SDP supporters to join PDP.
Led by Hon. Sikiru Adebayo, the SDP supporters pledged their loyalty to PDP and Dr Akin Ogunbiyi.
From dawn to dust, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi in his usual approach of projecting the PDP had early last week took campaigns of His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other candidates of the party to streets in Iwo Federal Constituency comprising Iwo, Olaoluwa and Ayedire local governments.
Then, he interacted with chiefs, professionals, traders, women and youths in the communities and urged them to vote PDP candidates come 2019, asserting that no other political party cares about the people more than PDP.
According to the PDP chief, the decampees and other bigwigs from other political parties who had already keyed into the PDP but yet to make their decisions public would officially be handed over to Hon. Soji Adagunodo, Osun PDP chairman during the constituency rally ahead.
