2019: JIMI BENSON PROMISES BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR IKORODU CONSTITUENCY, ACQUIRES COMMUNITY RADIO LICENSE

The member, representing Ikorodu federal constituency at the House of Reps, Abuja, Hon Babajimi Benson has assured residents of Ikorodu federal constituency of a brighter and more rewarding future, in his bid to deliver quality representation to the good people of Ikorodu division.

Hon Benson, who was a special guest at the ‘Let’s Talk’ hangout with some of his constituents at The Factor Corridor, Olubi. He also seized the opportunity to reel out some of his major achievements in the last three and half years of representing the division at the green chamber.

The federal lawmaker listed some of his achievements to include, his being the House of Reps member with the highest number of bills, motions and federal constituency projects attracted to his constituency among 360 of his colleagues, across the country.

He added that, he has been able to build nine (9) schools, one (1) ICT Centre, numerous transformers, water projects as well as grading of roads across Ikorodu Division as some of his score-card for a second term at the lower chamber of the national assembly.

JB, as fondly called also cleared the air on certain unfounded rumour surrounding his person and political activities, noting that he was not in competition with anyone but is only committed to the service of the good people of Ikorodu division.

‘I am here to serve, not to compete or contest leadership position with anybody in Ikorodu.  I have served at the United Nations in New York and also as the Number two man in LSDPC at age 30. God has been so good to me, so I have no reason to envy anybody in Ikorodu’, he said.

The lawmaker noted that he is a humble, easy going and contented socialite who lives a simple life and wishes everybody well, without acrimony or any mischief.

‘I am here to serve you and put smiles on your faces. I am not in competition but, I’m committed to the service of my father land. I’m a prince of Ikorodu and I won’t do anything that will jeopardize the progress of my Constituency’, he assured.

Benson also promised to forgive certain unnamed personalities within Ikorodu who are out propagating falsehood and mischief against his person, in the name of politics and selfish interests. He pleaded with the constituents to help beg these personalities to desist from their fruitless and divisive tendencies in the interest of peace, progress and development of Ikorodu Division.

Benson assured his constituents that the future of Ikorodu division is very bright hence, the need for more of their prayers and support, especially ahead of the forthcoming general elections, to enable him deliver more dividends of democracy to Ikorodu federal constituency.

The federal lawmaker further promised the delivery of more constituency projects to his constituents, once the outstanding 50% 2018 budget funding is released. He assured of more women empowerment and economic projects to women and youths.

The lawmaker also announced that he has just acquired a community radio license on 89.3 frequency, aimed at giving voice to the good people of Ikorodu federal constituency.

Many Ikorodu stakeholders who attended the interactive hangout praised Hon Benson and commended his leadership style and midas touch he brought into Ikorodu politics since he won election into the House of Reps in 2015.

Many attendees commended the event Host, Com Japheth Odesanya and Management of The Factor Newspaper / Corridor for creating platform for intellectual discourse for Ikorodu stakeholders, in a relaxed atmosphere.
