The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, felicitate with his Bariga counterpart, Hon. Kolade Alabi, on the victory of the APC councillorship candidate in the bye election of Bariga Ward C which was held yesterday.
Dullar said, “The victory is not for Sowande or Bariga alone, it’s for our party, APC, in Lagos State and Somolu Federal Constituency in particular”, the Somolu Local Government Boss said.
Recall that the councilor representing Bariga Ward C, Hon. Adewale Awokoya (Ogbogbon), passed on earlier this year and as provided by the law, a bye election should be held to replace the deceased. The All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Olufemi Sowande came to victory with 1,442 votes while his closest opponent from People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Taiwo Azeez, polled 286.
However, the Somolu Local Government Mayor, wishes Olufemi Sowande a successful tenure in office as he join other seven progressive councilors in the Bariga Legislative Chamber. He also urged the new councilor to be loyal to the party and its leadership in Bariga and beyond.
“I congratulate my good brother, Hon. Kolade Alabi, for this victory and honour for our party as this has shown us how the 2019 general election will be won”, the multiple award winning Executive Chairman said.
