The Fayose threat?
A huge deal has been made about a statement purportedly made by the gov of Ekiti state Ayodele Fayose that he was prepared to leave the party pdp shortly after the primaries in Port Harcourt!!
If he did make this threat which is possible, he made it first and foremost out-of annoyance and some misgivings . Misgivings arising out of an undercurrent that has been brewing with certain individuals in the Atiku camp!
Yoruba leaders generally find it difficult to learn that ‘ a fight to finish’has always been an ill wind that blows nobody particularly the Yoruba region no good in the end!
My brother, friend, and leader must be careful!
This last few weeks has not been easy for him and it’s natural he has been rattled! Rattled because a lot of permutations made had not gone accordingly!
It is natural to be peeved! For as an individual the country in general cannot forget in a hurry the role Fayose played in providing an alternative voice to the voice being heard at the villa, and more importantly keeping pdp the main political rival party vibrant! And Fayose single handedly did this initially and kept on doing this till other leaders started joining in!
I’ve always believed in politics there is a reward system! That the more a man works the more he eats! It’s also a biblical principle! Simply put Fayose believed he has sacrificed hard even in the process turning himself into public enemy no 1 as per the villa and now it seems he is about to come up empty as per his hearts desire!
His outburst is an initial frustration bourne out of the realisations that he may come up empty and left on the lurch after all his efforts!
However, his excellency must calm down both by himself and by the party leaders helping to calm him down! The leaders should understand Osoko ‘s frustration and move to dialogue immediately with him particularly one or two individuals in the Atiku camp! Secondus the party chairman and the presidential candidate are key in this!
This is the worst period to have a split in the pdp! Even in the Bible it says a sherperd shall leave 99 of his sheep and go and look for the one that is missing!
It is easy to say ‘Let Fayose leave if he wants ‘ but this will not be the right attitude! Total unity and more is required to unseat Buhari at the polls Even with this total unity it’s a huge and daunting task! Sometimes we cannot think for the ordinary man on the strrets! The leaders can only campagn to change the opinion and the thinking on ‘ground zero ” and Fayose is good at that! He remains an asset the party cannot afford to lose!
On the part of osokomole, reality beckons! Man proposes God disposes! He has been here before When everybody thought he was finished! Gods ways are not our ways!
it is possible for now he may not be picked by Atiku as his running mate and that is a cold political reality! This should not be enough to want to decamp! It remains about ,the people first, the party next , and the individual last ! A move from the pdp will rock the political journey of Fayose! But knowing how stubborn Fayose can be he my be rocked into taking a spontaneous decision he has done it before when he joined the labour party!
Osoko does not need to be in an official position before he can become a wrecking crew! He did it for Fayemi during the rerun!
He may decide to withdraw from the support he is giving professor olusola Eleka as per the ongoing election tribunal!
However it’s politically very dangerous time for Gov Fayose and he must not only listen to himself he must listen to those of us that has his interest at heart! He should not do anything rash but remain in the pdp party! He has proven to be a worthy leader, has sacrificed, invested both money and time and has fought the parties fight!
On the party’s part the party must remain to support each other and individuals within the party ! Fayose may be moved against by the system after he leaves office and the party must be there to give him full support. When the party needed Osoko he was there so now that Osoko may need the party ,the party should be there for him!
All in all the aspirant Abubarkar Atiku should now quickly move to settle whatever is the rift within the party and move to disallow bad blood to fester!
In party politics it is always team play! There is a limit individual play can reach!, after which it will begin to be negative on everything and everybody!
good afternoon all!
