Former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi has condemned actions of the Nigerian Police Force over the invitation extended to the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Osun State election, Senator Ademola Adeleke on allegations of forgery, saying the Police can not been sincere.
According to him, the police have shown clearly that they are partisan in the Osun State governorship election with such malicious invitation especially as the contest is barely 72 hours to go.
His words, “the Police claimed they have been looking for Adeleke for the past one year, and this is within which period that he contested for the Senate position and had been very much in circulation.
The Police position is like a situation of a pregnant woman who has been alleged to have committed an offence less than a month of her pregnancy and was left untouched until when she was in labour. This suggests that the police is not sincere in this matter.
He therefore advised the APC government to go into a fair contest rather than using strong arm tactics to stiffle opposition, saying the true situation on ground in Osun State have shown clearly that the APC has performed woefully and cannot face the electorates but hoping to use a back door arrangement to secure electoral victory.
