The people’s democratic party in Kogi state have thrown its weight behind the candidature of former vice president Atiku Abubakar.
The party made the disclosure when the Atiku Campaign Organisation train visited Lokoja on Thursday for consultation with delegates and party officials.
Speaking in behalf of the delegates and officials, leader of the party in Kogi former Governor Idris Wada and State party chairman Sam Ohuotu stated that the PDP in Kogi are for Atiku in the coming primaries.
Atiku while responding to the delegates went down memory lane to his experiences with Kogi state and assured them of having Kogi at heart. But warned that the PDP should not predetermine the primaries but rely on the will of the people in order to guarantee the continuous existence of the party.
Atiku further enjoined the delegates to consider National Unity, Economy and security of the country before voting at the primaries and subsequently, the general elections.
