The State of Osun House of Assembly has adjourned the plenary of the Parliament till the 2nd of October this year.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam, announced this today while declaring the verification of documents of Income and Expenditure of the political functionaries at the local government level that started about two weeks ago closed.
According to the Speaker whose duties and functions of office his Deputy, Hon.Akintunde Adegboye performed, the recess is part of the annual vacation of the Parliament saying apart from the fact that the Parliament has not observed any break since the beginning of this year the holiday would afford the Hon. Members and the staff the opportunity to rest and come back afresh at the appointed day for resumption.
On this, Hon. Salaam who reiterated the commitment of the Parliament currently under his watch as the Speaker of qualitative legislation that would have direct bearing to the yearnings and aspirations of the people in terms of dividend of democracy also used the avenue to wish the Muslim brothers and sisters in the state happy Ed el kabir Salah(odun ileya festival) in advance.
He then called for caution during the festivity. He also appealed for peace during the forthcoming Osun Osogbo festival and the governorship election in the state come September 22 this year.
