A leading pro-masses movement, Ekiti Liberation Movement (ELM) has warned the civil servants in Ekiti State not to be deceived by Governor Ayodele Fayose’s emergency promotions.
The group through its Director General, Chief Sunday Anifowoshe told newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday that the sudden promotions, public display and handing over of letter to some selected civil servants by Fayose is nothing but a deceitful way to lure them into doing his political bidding.
ELM observed that civil servants who has not been paid for the past 9 months are suddenly remembered for promotions very close to election, cautioning workers to be wary of such trick and avoid mortgaging their electoral power to what he called “Greek Gift” from Fayose.
Giving the conclusion of the group’s scrutiny on the emergency promotions of Ekiti state workers, Chief Anifowosho hinted that it’s a ploy to frustrate the incoming governor should PDP fail to win the election with huge salary burden.
Aside that, he noted that if Fayose succeeded in imposing his stooge, Mr Kolapo Olushola Eleka on the state, “it is certain that all of them promoted will be sacked with the excuse that the state can no longer carry huge wage bill or that he is not the governor that employed them.”
ELM cautioned civil servants in Ekiti state not to be caught off-guard in the cheap attempt to use them to perpetuate ‘tricky’ Fayose’s selfish political agenda and later be dumped, charging them to ignore the antics of Fayose to liberate themselves from irresponsible leadership.
Seemingly disturbed at reports that Fayose is coercing different groups, collecting their names, phone numbers and PVC numbers, ELM alert anti-graft agency, EFCC, to beam it searchlight on the governor to unravel who approved state funds he is paying into the accounts of undocumented persons just to lure them to vote for his candidate.
The group also charged security agencies in the country to set their gaze on Fayose because there have been series of corruption allegations and how he has been using different individuals and private companies as fronts to do a last minute “looting” of State resources.
Anifowhose, however, charged Ekiti electorates to vote for the right candidate and not allow themselves to be intimidate by Fayose or to vote against their conscience, emphasizing that for the state to get out of abject poverty and under development, they must as a matter of urgency rethink for a new and prosperous Ekiti State.
