THERE WAS NO POLITICALLY-MOTIVATED ATTACK IN IFAKI-EKITI
My attention has been drawn to a Post by Ilesanm Alex Ajayi, a fellow who I had hitherto held in the highest esteem, even though I knew where his sympathies lay.
However with his mendacious and odious Post about a fictitious attack on Dr Kayode Fayemi’s supporters in Ifaki-Ekiti allegedly carried out by Chief Segun Oni’s supporters, Ilesanm Alex Ajayi has proven himself unscrupulous and undeserving of any respect whatsoever.
Chief Segun Oni, bka CSO is an upright Politician who has never resorted to – and will never resort to – dark, violent and underhand tactics to gain an advantage in any contest.
Every discerning person knows that the attack the writer is alluding to – a personal tiff between drunken friends at a ‘beer parlour’ which was not politically-motivated – is nothing but a figment of the writer’s warped imagination.
Moreover, it is crystal clear that if the May 5, 2018 Ekiti APC Gubernatorial Primaries are conducted in a free and fair manner and if the Delegates decide to put the interest of the Party and the State above mercenary considerations, CSO will not only emerge as the APC’s flagbearer for the July 14, 2018 Ekiti State Governorship election but will also emerge the Governor-elect.
In the circumstances, I want to urge every right-thinking Ekiti person and Nigerians at large to regard the campaign of calumny being peddled by Ilesanm Alex Ajayi and his ilk all in a futile bid to besmirch Chief Segun Oni’s unblemished Integrity and Reputation.
