BIOGRAPHY
Born to the family of Chief David Ibesanmi Itansanmi and Mrs. Lydia Erebinimo Ibesanmi on the 19th day of August 1947 at Isowa Quarters in Iju-Odo, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, South West Nigeria. Chief Titus Otitoloju Ibesanmi, the first and only son of his mother attended St. Paul’s Anglican Primary School in Iju-Odo and Erekiti in Okitipupa, Ondo State for his elementary education.
He thereafter proceeded to Commercial College, Okitipupa and St. John’s Anglican Modern School, Idepe – Okitipupa, Ondo State for his secondary education and graduated in the year 1964.
Chief Ibesanmi started his work experience at Araromi Rubber Estate in Ore, Ondo State in 1965 before he moved to Ijebu Waterside Rubber Plantation, Ogun State also in 1965.
Chief Titus Ibesanmi, the incumbent Oduyilola of Iju-Odo community in Okitipupa, Ondo State journeyed to Lagos in 1966 in search of greener pasture with the help and support of his uncle, Mr. Richard Ojuri who with no concrete and guaranteed means of livelihood took the risk of bringing him down to Lagos.
In Lagos, Chief Ibesanmi’s was put under a kind of an internship service with Chief Joseph Adetunji, Chairman, J.O Adetunji & Sons Limited, a Lagos contractor and general merchant.
Under the tutelage of Chief Adetunji, Chief Ibesanmi successfully learnt Typing and Shorthand which turned out to be very instrumental in his sojourn and endeavor in life afterwards.
Chief Ibesanmi moved from the guardianship of Chief Adetunji later in 1966 to work with Mr. & Mrs. Okiji where he occasionally got the opportunity to represent his principal, Mr. Okiji at his workplace, JOHN HOLT NIGERIA and as fate would have it, upon the demise of his principal – Mr. Okiji in 1967, Chief Ibesanmi became a contractual staff of JOHN HOLT NIGERIA; many thanks to his experience in Typing and Shorthand.
From the position of a contractual store executive, Chief Ibesanmi rose to become the substantial Senior Storekeeper at JOHN HOLT NIGERIA, a position he held till his resignation from the organization in 1974.
Before his resignation, Chief Titus Ibesanmi rented his first apartment in Lagos in 1969 at 7, Evans Street, Lagos Island and got married to his wife, Aina Victoria Avoseh on 18th July 1971.
Chief Ibesanmi got employed at Oke-Afa Farms, Isolo, Lagos State in 1975 and was there till 1978 before he moved to Union Beverages Limited (a subsidiary of Odua Group) makers of PepsiCola and Mirinda in 1978 till he eventually retired in 1984.
