Brand new Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has taken his oath of office as the fourth civilian governor since Ekiti was carved out of Ondo state in 1996 as well as the sixth democratically-elected governor of the state. He takes over from Ex-Governor, Olusegun Mimiko. Governor Akeredolu on Friday took the oath of office as the new Governor of the state haven defeated Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Nov.26 governorship election to become the governor-elect. His running mate, Ajayi Agboola was sworn into office as deputy governor earlier. The All Progressives Congress Party members including the National Leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Bisi Akande attended the swearing-in ceremony which held in Akure the state’s capital. Akeredolu takes oath of office as new Ondo state Governor Others include state governors of Ogun, Niger, Kogi, Sokoto and Oyo states. Also, Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, governor’s forum and Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose equally attended to witness the event.
