The breakdown of successful candidates registered for the Federal government’s N-Power programme has Bauchi state with the highest number of candidates, next to Lagos and Rivers state. This has been attributed to the free registration centres and massive awareness campaigns carried out by the state government in all local government areas of the state.
In recent updates, deployment of N-Power applicants in the state is soon to commence. 200,000 candidates will be deployed nationwide during the first phase. Bauchi state has submitted names of 5 secondary schools located in the state capital which will be used for the induction training and on boarding of applicants. Each applicant will earn N30,000 monthly and a device will be given to them which will make their work easier.
Furthermore, Office of the State Focal Person on Social Investment Program will collaborate with SUBEB to deploy selected applicants for N-Power Teach, while the State Ministry of Agriculture will be partnered for N-Power Agro and State Primary Healthcare Development Agency for N-Power Health.
N-Power Teach candidates will be deployed to primary schools; N-Power Agro candidates to offer Agricultural extension services; and N-Power Health personnel to work as Health promoters and sensitizers on maternal and child health among others.
The list of total registered applicants and that of the selected applicants who are to participate in 1st phase in Bauchi (estimated at about 5,000) will be made available soon.
