Ahead of November 26 Gubernatorial election in Ondo State, Peoples Democratic Party PDP will flag off its Gubernatorial campaign on Wednesday in Akure, the Ondo State Capital.
Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Engr Clement Faboyede spoke while addressing PDP leaders across the state at the party’s stakeholders meeting held at the International Event Center, (The DOME) on Sunday.
He said all arrangements had been concluded to make the Flag-off a colourful one and enjoined the party leaders at the local governments, Wards and Units level to mobilize enmass for the Flag-off.
The PDP Chairman said the party has to flag off the campaign on time to inform the people of the nullity of the last Friday ruling.
On the choice of Akure for the Flag-off, Engr Faboyede said it has to be in Akure to show that their candidate, Mr Eyitayo Jegede SAN is popular at home and that the Flag-off will send the signal of his popularity to the whole world
In his brief remarks at the meeting, Governor Olusegun Mimiko assured party leaders that last Friday’s ruling was morally and legally wrong and that necessary machineries had been put in motion to overrule it
He said PDP had written appeal to Independent National Electoral Commission even when the said ruling has not gotten to INEC.
Mimiko who used the avenue to direct that all illegal tax collectors in Ondo State should be arrested with immediate effect saying they are sabotaging efforts of his administration
Youths Leader of Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Comrade Adebayo Abayomi said youths in Ondo State have been fully mobilized the Flag-off.
