Tinubu deserves travails – Akinfenwa

The Chairman, Board of Trustees, Alliance for Democracy, Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa, on Tuesday, said that the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, deserved his current travails.

Akinfenwa in a statement made available to our correspondent said there was no way he would be wooed to work with Tinubu, adding that the former Lagos State governor had not spoken to him in the last 15 years.

The political stalwart said he was not ready to work with the former governor.

Specifically, Akinfenwa, who was a former national chairman of the AD, said he would not be railroaded into supporting Tinubu, whom he said was scheming to get the support of the Yoruba.

Akinfenwa, who fell out with Tinubu over the leadership of the AD more than a decade ago, said Tinubu was the architect of his own misfortune.

He said, “(Every) man is the architect of his own fortune and misfortune. In this case, Tinubu is the architect of his own misfortune. So, he should not bring me into the matter I was never part of with him.

“He knows it will be difficult, if not impossible to woo or induce me as he is gradually succeeding with those he has despised and succeeded in wounding.”

  1. These are not the ways of Yoruba elders. This baba does not deserve to be a leader. Tinubu has not gone to beg him. Neither has he proposed any dealings with him. Why the preemptive threat that he won’t settle with Tinubu?
The task of dislodging the Jonathan regime in this country is perpetually a historic and a heroic occurrence. Tinubu will never regret that. Baba should retire and allow peace to reign in Yorubaland. j
