we must fight corruption in the judiciary but not this way Kayode Ajulo

I have canvassed several times the need to overhaul our judiciary, recall my twin letters to the President, Muhammadu Buhari and the Honorable Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN.

I however believe that in cleaning  the judiciary of corrupt judges, proper procedures must be followed. Judges have no immunity from prosecution but I have been privilege to take part in the disciplinary procedures of some judges.

It is pertinent to state this no arm of government has review itself than the judiciary and this ought to be encouraged.

I believe there are procedures to be followed for any disciplinary measure against serving judges.

Such procedure should be adhere to so as not to set a bad precedent not these extant despotic operations.

I support  that corrupt judges should be investigated  and dealt with accordingly but it should be done with decency without bringing the bench to disrepute or ridicule.

I am completely against the modus operanda employed by DSS, the duties and function of the service must be looked into, they’re not conventional policemen nor economic and financial crimes fighters neither are they the anti-corruption agency, the alarming commando-style of breaking  the door of a serving judge to effect an arrest is completely out of order. It is inglorious, repugnant, and it lacks  common sense.

Trial through the media should be abated and any evidence against them should be presented to the quarters for proper determination.

I support the need to rid our country of bad elements not only in the three arms of government but in every part and parcel of Nigeria, but legal procedure should be strictly followed.
