#EdoElection: Godwin Obaseki, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the governorship election in Edo state is poised to be officially declared winner having won in 13 Local Government Areas from results being collated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Edo state.
Obaseki has so far polled a total of 282,118 votes; 50,782 more than the total votes of 231,336 Ize-Iyamu has polled.
Meanwhile protests have begun outside the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Benin City, Edo State.
This is coming just as agents of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] rejected the results of the Edo governorship election.
The protesters alleged that the results have been altered by the electoral commission.
Security officials have formed a barricade outside the INEC office to stall any breakdown of law and order.
