Lagos APC Commend Governor Ambode On Commissioning 114 Inner Lagos Roads
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has lauded and indeed congratulated the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwumi Ambode for commissioning 114 inner roads in Lagos and flagging off the construction of another tranche of 114 inner roads in Lagos. The party says that by this development, the Governor has demonstrated his commitment to ensure that the state is wholly opened up in furtherance of his resolve to make Lagos a stronger business hub and Nigeria’s Cente of Excellence.
In a release in Lagos, signed by the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Joe Igbokwe, the party said that Governor Ambode has, within a very short period, taken Lagos several notches up in development and growth. It urges all Lagosians to continue to support Governor A,bode as he works frantically to expand the potentials of Lagos through rapid growth and development.
“We note that the 114 new inner roads came with such wonderful features like walkways, drainage systems and street lights which adds to the infrastructural wealth of Lagos. We note also that the construction of the roads created thousands of jobs for Lagosians and Nigerians and the construction of the newer roads will create more jobs for Lagosians. It is impressive to note that the massive construction came at a time the country is passing through economic recession, which says of the staying power of Lagos and its capacity to lead the revival of the country’s economic from the cruises of sole dependence on oil.
“Lagos APC recalls that when our party was putting forward Governor Ambobe to replace the high performing former Governor Fashola, we did state that he posses the capability to take Lagos further from the enviable heights Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babatunde Fashola regimes took it. We are happy that we had been proved very right by the rapid and frenzied manner Governor Ambode is executing development projects and prosecuting a Lagos that is now expanding and is presently the fifth largest African economy. We are proud that Governor Ambode has once again, proved our party’s competence in choosing right leaders that can take LAGOS to the enviable heights it is occupying today. We are proud of Governor Ambode, as we were of his predecessors.
“While we celebrate Governor Ambode’s lofty achievements, we urge Lagosians to treat the roads and of course all other projects in their areas as theirs and guard the, against vandalization. We equally urge all communities and areas where the Governor is yet to reach to exercise patience as we are sure that the present government will soon reach such areas.
“Once again, we congratulate the Governor and his government on their great achievements so far. We urge the Governor not to rest on his oars in his resolve to frenetically expand the frontiers of growth and progress in Lagos. We assure him of our support and of course, that of entire Lagosians as he diligently execute his manifestos.
