HERITAGE BANK EQUIPS YOUNG ENTREPRENURS IN LAGOS

Friday, 15th July, 2016. Lagos, Nigeria – In furtherance of its commitment to strengthen entrepreneurship development among Nigerian youth, Heritage Bank has presented equipment and working tools to young entrepreneurs who have successfully participated in the Young Entrepreneurship Training Program (YETP).
At the graduation ceremony in Ajegunle, Lagos last Thursday, 46 young entrepreneurs received their prizes and working tools from the Centre for Values in Leadership, CVL’s Young Entrepreneurs Training Programme (YETP) supported by Heritage Bank Limited
These young entrepreneurs, who have been trained in various skills like hair dressing and fashion design amongst others, were presented with different equipment ranging from generators, hair dryers, washing hair basins, rollers, foot massagers, hair stretchers, over locking machines as well as mannequins.
Speaking at the event, Fijo Wisdom, a team member of the Cowry SME Division, Heritage Bank, congratulated the young entrepreneurs and tasked them to be leaders and mentors in their chosen fields.
James Ebube, the CVL Programs Manager implored the entrepreneurs to put to judicious use the tools provided for them. He also acknowledged Heritage Bank for the tremendous role it played and support given in achieving this feat.
A graduate of the programme, Miss Chinyere Irene Kwuneme, who was presented with a generator and hair dryer, expressed appreciation to Heritage Bank and CVL and said the gesture would relive her of further expenses in the future.
Mrs. Chikereuba Nkechi, a graduate of Fashion Design, who was also a beneficiary, and presented with an ‘over locking machine and a mannequin’ said she was surprised when invited to come and collect the equipment. “I felt overwhelmed and surprised. I didn’t know they would go through with it, but I am indeed grateful to Heritage Bank and CVL for their support,” she said.
Aminu Khadijat, another beneficiary of the programme, expressed her satisfaction and lauded Heritage Bank for supporting the initiative which she said would add value to her life.
In a bid to curb unemployment among youth, Heritage bank Plc in partnership with the Centre for Values in Leadership (CVL)has trained some young Nigerians in various skills.
The Centre for Values and Leadership CVL is aimed at building a body of values-driven leaders, especially the youths by empowering them with leadership skills and values that would enable them make a lasting contribution to the society.
