Senate President, Bukola Saraki
Decision of the Supreme Court, on Friday directing the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki , to go and face his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) over 13- count charge bordering on false assets declaration, is already setting the stage for another round of crises in the Senate.
The Like-Mind Senators in a terse statement made available to our correspondent dismissed request for the resignation of the senate President.
Senator Kabiru Marafa had in an interview with journalists demanded for Saraki resignation.
But, Senator Dino Melaye in a terse response to question forwarded to him on phone about Marafa’s position said “Marafa’s ranting against Saraki will not fly in the senate because the case at the CCT is not about Saraki; rather, it’s about the Senate.
“Marafa is a clown who does not know that what is happening is not against Saraki as an individual, it is against the Senate as an institution.
“We will defend the senate and we will no longer fold our harms on the issue.
“We know that at the end of the day, we shall come out stronger”.
