Ruler denies rumour of ‘fake death’
AMIDST conspiracy theories and rumour that he faked his own death to avoid a second prosecution by a London Court , the family of former Governor of Bayelsa state, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha and the family have finally fixed e final burial rites of the late ‘Governor General’ from March 24 to 26, 2016.

 

This was disclosed by the traditional ruler of Amasoma community and cousin to the deceased, HRH Graham Naingba, who said the delay was due to ensure proper arrangements have been put in place by the family and the state government to give a burial befitting of man of his calibre.

The ruler who spoke to The Guardian at his palace in Amasoma, the home town of the late former state governor, said plans are being made with the burial rites beginning on the 24th of March and ending on 26th when he will be buried .

The monarch who dispelled rumours in some quarters the late former governor may be faking his death to avoid a second persecution in a London court, said it was a taboo in the Amasoma clan for anyone to fake his or her own death.
He said anyone who did so would not live beyond three months .

“It’s a taboo and the gods of the entire Ogboin community made up of Amasoma, Amatolo and Otuan abhor that.”
He however revealed that since the death of their kinsman, elders and entire traditional council have not gone to the morgue to see the body of the former governor who has brought fame, fortune and development to Amasoma.
