Isiaka expresses confidence in Judiciary, sues for peace

Ogun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka has appealed to his teeming supporters to have confidence in the judiciary as the last hope of the common man.

He, however, warned them not to take laws into their hands despite unwarranted provocation from some political thugs in the state.

Isiaka spoke yesterday in Abeokuta while addressing members of GNICO Youth Forum that visited him and expressed concerns about their security on Friday when the tribunal will give verdict on his case against Governor Ibibunke Amosun.

Isiaka said, “We have absolute confidence in the ability of the tribunal to do what is right and deliver justice without fear or favour. We were aggrieved with the level malpractices and non-compliance with electoral laws and instead of taking laws into our hands, we have approached the judiciary and I urge all of you to be law abiding.

“If we did not get satisfactory assurance from the police that your lives and property would be protected on Friday, we shall ask you not to come to court on Friday. We shall ask you to stay at your various destinations and monitor what is going on in the court”.

The Youth Forum had complained that none of the suspected All Progressives Congress (APC) thugs that attacked them within the court premises at the last hearing of the matter was arrested and prosecuted by the police.
