Eket Local Government Chapter Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr.Godwin Akwaowo over the weekend berated Akwa Ibom State Governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel and his unrealistic road construction contracts awarded in various local government areas in the state.

 

The Eket APC helmsman questioned the modalities and rationale behind the hastily contracts awarded so far by the governor, without budgetary provision and approval by the State House of Assembly. “The state at the moment is bankrupt. The money in Akwa Ibom State today cannot construct two good roads because the previous administration of Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio left behind huge debt. In the state. In the case of Eket LGA, has Gov. Udom Emmauel paid compensation to the owners of the building whose properties will be affected by the so-called beautification project? He asked.

Mr. Akwaowo  was speaking at a meeting of Buhari Youth Organisation, Eket Chapter, held at the APC Chapter Office along Eket/Oron road encouraged APC members in Eket in particular and Akwa Ibom State in general not to be sway by the re-run election and political motivated campaign strategy adopted  by Gov. Udom Emmanuel. The APC Chairman further queried,  “since Udom brought two caterpillars to Eket about three weeks ago in the name of contract flag off ceremony for the beautification project of Eket main town, the machines are left in the mercies of the rain, as no beautification project is ongoing. It further proved and confirmed that Gov. Udom government was conceived in deceit and delivered in fraud.”

 

In their separate speeches, the Eket protem Coordinator of Buhari Youth Organisation, Mr. Godwin Edoho, State Youth Leader Mr. Charles Eboho, Eket Chapter Protem Secretary Mr. Geofrey Essien and State Woman Leader Elizabeth Bassey charged all members to support President Muhammadu Buhari and his anti corruption policies. They stressed the need for members to embrace change, and to get prepared for the anticipated re-run election in the state which will usher in Obong Umana Okon Umana as the gove
