Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has relieved four of his commissioners of their duties as members of Edo State Executive Council.
The information, which was contained in a press statement issued and signed on Wednesday by Prince Kassim Afegbua, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Oshiomhole, indicated that Lucky James of Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Mrs. Maigida Blessing of Ministry of Women Affairs were among the sacked commissioners.
Similarly, the two other affected commissioners are Patrick Aguinede of Ministry of Basic Education and Chris Ebare of Ministry of Energy and Water Resources.
Governor Oshiomole, who explained that the sack of the Commissioners was in line with the state government’s commitment to strengthen the system towards optimal performance, noted that the development is with immediate effect and ordered that the affected commissioners should hand over all government properties in their possession to the Permanent Secretaries in their respective Ministries.
However, the comrade governor expresses his appreciation to the former commissioners for their services to the state and wishes them well in their future endeavours.
