The charming singer has emerged the new ‘Social Secretary’ of Islamic Musician Association of Nigeria (ISMAN) Lagos State chapter.Rukayat Gawat was pronounced the Lagos State ‘Social Secretary’ by the national electoral board of ISMAN at the just concluded election for Lagos State Chapter which held on July 30, 2015 at Isolo area of Lagos.
The election also had Alhaji Abdul Ganiyu Abideen re-emerging the Governor for another tenure while popular and sonorous singer, Alhaja Aminat Babalola-Balogun widely known as ‘Omotayebi’ emerged the new ‘Amira’-leader of the women affairs – of the ISMAN; Lagos State chapter.
Rukayat Gawat carved a niche for herself in the Islamic music terrain; as one of the wave-making Islamic musicians rocking the scene at the moment.
Married and blessed with wonderful kids, this Mass-Communication graduate of the Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ogun State took over music the scene with a hit single entitled ‘Ogbe-Okan.’
The hit song featured Alh. Abdul Kabir Bukola Alayande otherwise known as ‘Ere Asalatu,’ Aminat Omotayebi and Ustaz Saheed Ife-Araye artistically known as ‘Gbemisoke’.
The daughter of the well-loved presenter; Aremu Gawat , focuses more on the women’s world as she preaches the ideals of a wife and generally the duties and roles of women in the Islamic world.
This easy-going singer has performed at several big Islamic functions and has few interesting musical albums that include ‘Imole , My father , Arinakore Aye Le,’ and ‘AgbokoL’Ori’ to her credit.
In a similar development, Alhaja Aminat Babalola Balogun, aka Omotayebi has emerged the ‘Amira’ ISMAN (Islamic Musicians Association of Nigeria) Lagos State chapter.
At the recently conducted executive election, the 2014 YOMAFA -Yoruba Music and Films Awards- best Islamic Female Singer, emerged the Amira of the association just weeks away from the launch of her new album entitled, ‘Esan’ which will be marketed under stable of award-winning marketer, Okiki music production.
Meanwhile, the beautiful and soulful singer had already set in motion a two-in-one celebration that would herald her new album with an elaborate launch and award supporters.
The two-in-one celebration is scheduled to hold on Sunday August 9, 2015 at the Anchor Events Centre, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos.
The award-winning singer; Omotayebi has come a long way and she wanted to do something to appreciate the people who believed so much in her from the beginning of career. According to her ‘I want to do thanksgiving and appreciation to almighty God and fans; those that stood by me for years. There so many established artistes in the industry for years but God personally brought me out and uplifted me.’
‘The event is an Islamic programme to assemble my colleagues; it is to tell people about human reality for us to know how to appreciate God and I am planning to bring in one of the celebrated Islamic clerics to lecture us on the essence of appreciating God’
The album; ‘Esan’; will no doubt touch many lives and inspire people as it educates listeners of the appropriate returns if one conducts oneself well.
