As you are aware, the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) began yesterday in Nairobi, Kenya in what is a historic occasion for entrepreneurship. Some of you will be present at the event and listen directly to US President Barack Obama address emerging African entrepreneurs, as well as listen to the success stories of many successful businessmen and investors from around the world, including our Founder, Tony O. Elumelu CON.
The Africapitalism Institute recently completed a series of surveys, collating data on the challenges African entrepreneurs encounter, with the responses being pooled from the more than 20,000 entrepreneurs in the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Network. The results, published in a report titled “Unleashing Africa¹s Entrepreneurs: Improving the Enabling Environment for Start-ups”, will be launched at a world press-conference today, on the sidelines of the summit. You can read about this report here in the Wall Street Journal.
To get live updates on this landmark event, please follow the hashtag #TEEPatGES on Twitter and I urge you to tweet continuously using it, as we show the world the unity of the TEEP family. The event will also be live streamed on http://www.ges2015.org/.
