SARAKI DARES APC AGAIN, CONFIRMS NDUME AS SENATE MAJORITY LEADER

By Kola Popson

The Senate President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Bukola Saraki has again decided to go against the wishes of the leadership of his party by confirming Sen. Muhammad Ali-Ndume as the Majority Leader of the Senate.

This action was against the decision of the leadership of All Progressive Congress (APC), who had earlier forwarded the name of Senator Ahmed Lawan to the Senate President as the approved choice of the party.

In the same vein, the Senate President confirmed Sen. Bala Na’allah as the Deputy Majority Leader against the preferred candidate of the leadership of All Progressive Congress, Sen. George Akume.

Senator Kabiru Marafa of Senator Lawan group objected to this decision, but was ruled out of order by the Senate President.

It would be recalled that the chairman of APC, Chief John Oyegun, had yesterday written a letter to Senator Bukola Saraki indicating approved names of the principal officers of the Senate as unanimously agreed by the party leadership.

The letter reads thus
