As the 8th National Assembly members of the Federal Republic of Nigeria convene today at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja for their formal inauguration, Naijahottestgist deems it necessary to take a look at the backgrounds of some of them. Making the list of these Federal legislators to be considered is Hon. Ayodeji Adebayo Joseph.
HON. AYODEJI ADEBAYO JOSEPH
Hon. Ayodeji Adebayo Joseph, representing Apapa Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, is a graduate of Geography and planning (Bsc.) from Lagos State University (LASU). He holds his masters’ degree in Geographic (UNILAG). He was the immediate past Executive Chairman of Apapa Local Government Council of Lagos State. Prior to joining the service of Apapa Local Government council as the Executive Chairman, he had worked variously in different organization, including The Lagos State Civil Service as Research officer in the Ministry of Physical planning.
In 2004, he joined the Banking industry by working with the highly rated Guarranty Trust Banks (GTB). From there, he rose through the ranks with diligence and high level of expertise in the disposition of various tasks. Between May 2004 to March 2005, he was the GTBank Representative, Process Re-engineering Team with Price Water House Coopers (PWC).
In March 2005, he became head, POS installation and support unit(E-Business and Card Services group of GTBank Plc) coordinating the activities of the point of sale support and Installation unit nationwide ensuring product functionality, growth and usage.
Between 1991 & 2007, he was a founding member and also a co-founder, KAKANFO SUPPORT GROUP/FRIENDS OF TINUBU (FOT), a pressure platform for the support of the June 12 mandate and the aspiration of the amiable Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Governor Emeritus-Lagos State).
He was sworn in as Executive Chairman Apapa Local Government on Friday 31 October, 2008 to deliver the dividends of democracy to the good people of Apapa. As the Executive Chairman of Apapa Local Government,’The Golden Council’ as he is fondly called, was directly responsible for the smooth running of various government affairs in Apapa.
To prove to all and sundry that he is a worthy leader, the people of Apapa Federal Constituency decided to give him their mandate to represent them at House of Representatives. He is a one-time federal legislator.
HON. DAPO LAM ADESINA
Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina, who will be representing Ibadan South East and Ibadan North East Federal Constituency in the lower Chamber of the 8th National Assembly, was born on October 25th, 1978 into the family of Late Alhaji and Alhaja Lam-Adesina. He contested for this position under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC). Adedapo Lam-Adesina had from his early days in life proved himself as a voice for his people. He started his journey in life in the city of Ibadan where he was born. He attended the prestigious Government College Ibadan (GCI). He briefly studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Eruwa campus and later forwarded his education at the University of Ibadan where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc) in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering.
He worked briefly as an undergraduate at Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN) and later at Stabillini Visinoni (a sister company of Bi -Courtney Construction Company) in Lagos. He later moved to the Ministry of Agriculture, Enugu State.

Adedapo started his political career in 1998 during the period of a successful transition from Military to civilian rule (A remarkable period in the History of Nigeria). A very rare characteristic of Adedapo Lam-Adesina is his attitude of putting his people into consideration in all his endeavors in life.
In 2005, He broke the jinx of student apathy to voting and elections on campus when students trooped out en mass to elect him president of AEESS. His departmental Association in what was judged the election with the most impressive turnout. He didn’t disappoint the students all through his tenure as his achievements are still there on campus years after graduating. His slogan “It makes sense” was chorused by all and sundry.
In 2007, He advanced his career into the Oil & Gas industry with a flair for farming. He was a partner in a company named Skipet Oil Ltd which does supply of diesel to end users until recently when he took up public service job.
Adedapo Lam Adesina loves the less privileged and the motherless, He is a partner in Project lots which takes care of the less privileged and street kids in the society.
Hon. Adedapo Adesina was at a time Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports and Oyo State Commissioner for Industry,Applied Science and Technology.
In his two years as a commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Adedapo was reported to have created 1200 jobs for the youths of the state through the two editions of the Oyo State Job and Entrepreneurship Youth fair.
It is also on record that he trained and Empowered 373 young entrepreneurs in Barbing, Fashion designing, Hairdressing, Graphics designing, Videography, fishery, Vulcanizing and Photography among others.
SENATOR SOLOMON OLAMILEKAN ADEOLA
Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly called, ‘Yayi’ who represents Lagos West Senatorial District at the 8th National Assembly, was born on August 10, 1969 at Lagos Island Maternity Hospital to Mr. Ayinde Adeola Ogunleye and Madam Abeeni Olasunbo Ogunleye (nee Akinola). Adeola Solomon grew up in Alimosho where he began his education at State Primary School in Alimosho, Lagos. He proceeded to Community Grammar School, Akowonjo, Lagos for his secondary education. His quest for knowledge took him to the prestigious Ondo State Polytechnic, Owo now Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo state where he bagged a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting.
He became a Chartered Accountant at a very young age, and is a distinguished Chartered Accountant-Associate Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He is also a distinguished Member of the AAT.
Senator Adeola had a stint with the flagship of Nigerian newspapers, The Guardian Newspapers Limited for 12 years and rose to the position of Accountant. Adeola proceeded to Olatunji Omoyeni & Co, a chartered accounting firm, where he led the audit team for several years and was later promoted to the position of a Senior Auditor. He later established his own company, SOOTEM Nigeria Limited,[3] where he was the managing director and chief executive officer in the firm that specialized in tax consultancy.
Prior to his 2015 senatorial election victory under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC), he was a member of the House of Representatives representing Alimosho Federal Constituency, and was Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts. Before this, he had been elected on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria as a member representing Alimosho State Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly from 2003 to 2007 and again from 2007 to 2011.
SENATOR OLUREMI TINUBU
Senator Oluremi ShadeTinubu, wife of the former Lagos State Governor and National leader of All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is a senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District on the platform of APC.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who is returning to the National Assembly as a member for the second time, was born on September 21, 1960. Senator Oluremi Tinubu was youngest of 12 children; she was raised in Ogun State. Sentor Tinubu received a B.Sc. in Education from the University of Ife, and a National Certificate of Education in Botany and Zoology from the Adeyemi College of Education.
As the then First Lady of Lagos State, Senator Tinubu established the New Era Foundation, dedicated to establishing centers for “all round development of young ones and promote public awareness on environmental health and community service”. Over the years, this forthright role model has made tremendous impact in the lives of several people and institutions within and outside Nigeria.
As Senator, Tinubu hosts a quarterly Town Hall Meeting with her constituents, to render accounts of her stewardship and obtain feed-backs on their developmental needs. To date, she has sponsored three bills: to provide Social Security for Elderly Citizens; seek the Amendment of the Labour Act, to enhance employment opportunities for women, and; a Bill to provide Special Economic Assistance to Lagos State in view of its status as a former capital city and the commercial capital of Nigeria.
HON. MOJISOLA LAWAL
Hon. Mojisola Lawal will be representing Apapa Constituency I in the 8th Lagos State House of Assembly.
Mojisola Lasbat Lawal was born to a noble family of Late Chief T.A Lawal Akapo (Ojora of Lagos) and Princess M. A Ajasa Lawal-Akapo of the royal families of Ojora, Aromire, Onitana, Oloto and Oniru royal families. She had her primary education at St. Charles Nursery and Primary school and later on to Randle primary school. She attended post primary education at Lagos Anglican Girls Grammer School and Ansar-dueled secondary school both in Surulere where she held the post of the Library Prefect and Secretary Press Club; she obtained the West Africa School Certificate (WASC) examination in the college.
A highly adventurous scholar, young Mojisola Lawal proceeded to Lagos State Polytechnic for her National Diploma and University of Lagos (UNILAG) for Diploma in Law. Later went on to NIIT where she obtained a certificate in Software Development (Network Engineering). She also obtained a BSc. in Public Administration. She served as the Personal Assistant to the Director of Land Information System Support Unit (LISSU) of the Surveyor General and one time office manager of Cirrus Nigeria Limited in Lekki, Lagos. She later coined her own company called Worthline International Services Limited.
A progressive to the core, Mojisola Lawal was a member of the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD) which transformed to the Action Congress (AC) and which later emancipated to Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and now to All Progressive Congress (APC). A dynamic political team player, Mojisola Lasbat Lawal served as a Senior Special Assistant on Intervention and Inter-Governmental Relation in Apapa Local Government. Got elevated to serve as the Supervisory Councilor for Health in the same Local Government and has been a frontal/team player in the day to day health care delivery programmes in the local government till date. Hon. Lawal is a woman of substance with a great sense of Responsibility and Reliability.

Hon. Abdulrashid Abdullah was a big time Yoruba marketer until his party, All Progressive Congress urged him to contest on its platform based on his philanthropic nature.
