The President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Muhammad Buhari, has met with the President of Chad, Idriss Derby at the Defense House in Abuja to strategize on how to curb the menace of Boko-Haram ravaging the country.
The closed-door meeting, which was held today, Monday, 11th of May 2015, was largely centered on the issue of security at the common borders linking the two countries together.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, President Idriss Derby, who spoke through an interpreter, said their discussion was based on the threat posed by Boko-Haram and necessary joint efforts aimed at ending the dreadful activities of the evil sect.
In the same vein, the Chadian President added that Nigeria and Chad shared a lot in common in the area of culture and traditions and as such the two countries must work together to tackle security threats posed by Boko-Haram or other terrorist groups.
As at the time of filing this report, General Muhammad Buhari has not spoken to the press about the meeting.
