Barely one week after the result of the Lagos State Gubernatorial election was announced, and Akinwunmi Ambode of All Progressive Congress (APC) declared the winner, the power that be in the party have been compiling the list of the commissioners for various ministries in Lagos State.
It was reliably gathered that some of the people presently occupying vital positions at the Lagos State ministries would make the list of the new commissioners for the incoming administration of Akinwunmi Ambode. One of these people is Mr. Gbolahan Lawal, who is presently the Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Cooperatives. Mr. Gbolahan Lawal will make the list of the new commissioners.
In the same vein, Mr. Ademorin Kuye who is presently the Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy, has also been penciled by the power that be as one of the commissioners that will work with the incoming Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode. Similarly, Mr. Adebiyi Mabadeje, the present Lagos State Commissioner for Science and Technology, was lucky enough to win the hearts of the leaders of the Lagos APC because he was among the few that have been marked to constitute the Lagos State Executive Council in the administration of Akinwunmi Ambode.
On a similar note, another important personality at the present Lagos State Executive Council that will be returned in the incoming administration as a commissioner is Mr. Abimbola Shodipo. Abimbola Shodipo is currently the Special Adviser to Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola on Taxation and Revenue. It is reliably gathered that the man has been considered loyal enough to the power that be, hence he is marked one of the commissioners to work with Akinwunmi Ambode.
Moreover, Dr. (Mrs.) Yewande Adeshina, who is currently the Special Adviser to Governor Fashola on Public Health, has been anointed by the leaders of Lagos State Ruling Party (APC) as one of those loyal people to make the list of the next Lagos State Executive Council. This time, she will occupy the position of a commissioner and no longer a Special Adviser.
Another person that will make the list of the next commissioners in the administration of Akinwunmi Ambode is Mr. Lekan Ogunbanwo. Lekan Ogunbanwo was the Permanent Secretary of Eko FM, and later he was appointed the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Televison (LTV). Lekan Ogunbanwo had also been a Permanent Secretary for Special Project from where he retired. He has always been a good and close friend of the Governor-elect, Akinwunmi Ambode. Therefore, his nomination for the position of a commissioner is not a surprise to many.
One of those lucky people that have been marked as commissioners to work with the government of Akinwunmi Ambode also includes Abayomi Daramola. It is reliably gathered that Abayomi Daramola will make the list. Finally but not the least is Jide Sanwoolu. Jide Sanwonolu was brought into Lagos politics by Femi Pedro. They had both worked together during their days as bankers. It is worth noting that when Femi Pedro became the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, he brought in Jide Sanwoolu as his Chief of Staff. Femi Pedro later had a misunderstanding with his boss, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Unfortunately, this disagreement led to a situation where Femi Pedro had to quit working with Tinubu and later dumped politics. Surprinsingly, Jide Sanwoolu decided to remain in politics and loyal to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Since then, Asiwaju has found him loyal. This time, Jide has been penciled as one of the commissioners to work with the incoming Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode. This is a reward of being loyal to Asiwaju Tinubu and the party.
