Stephen Keshi has finally signed a new contract with the Nigeria Football Federation to continue as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles. This is going by reports emanating from the Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday. The signing of the contract is coming despite the fact that the Super Eagles’ preparations for their friendly against Bafana Bafana in Nelspruit on Sunday have been characteristically haphazard. Keshi signed just in time for a personal grudge match against the South Africans. The Big Boss, as Keshi is fondly called, has ended weeks of speculations about who will coach the Super Eagles, signing a new contract after an NFF board meeting on Wednesday. Keshi has not had a permanent contract since steering the country to the second round of the World Cup in Brazil. He coached the side on a match-by-match basis on the request of the Minister of sports, Tammy Danagogo, in this year’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The federation offered Keshi a deal earlier this year but he rejected it. He described it as a “slave contract”. It was not clear as at press time whether Keshi or his assistant, Dan Amokachi, will take charge of the match against the Bafana Bafana.
