BUHARI’S SPEECH IS EMPTY AND RHETORICAL – APGA NIGERIA

BUHARI’S SPEECH IS EMPTY AND RHETORICAL – APGA NIGERIA

BUHARI’S SPEECH IS OLD AND RHETORICAL, LACKS SPECIFICS ON WELFARE OF NIGERIANS.

We, at the ALL PROGRESSIVES GRAND ALLIANCE (APGA), NIGERIA, view the Speech by Rtd., Major General Buhari as same rehashed material coupists use when forcing their way to power. Enumerating ills and little on panacea.

Frankly, the speech is another open, persistent pandering to any willing ear, and a shameless grab at power.

The Nigerian peoples and electorate can no longer be deceived by attempts at such written enumeration, as a very effective Nigerian Press, secondary to a little phrase called ‘Freedom of the Press’, brings all issues to the public domain for active review via the Radio, T.V, Newsprint, Internet and other social media. Even Buhari has benefited from the freedom. A Freedom he denied others.

The ALL PROGRESSIVES GRAND ALLIANCE (APGA) NIGERIA, will further educate the General that under a democratic dispensation we now have a process of effective checks and balances through the 3 (three) arms of Government, including the legislature, executive and judiciary, where responsibility and accountability are primary, and governance not reduced to a whim.

It is our opinion that the current attempt by the General to wear a democratic garb under the Military uniform, simply looks like the lion in the sheep’s clothing. Nigerians have outgrown such deception.

We, at the ALL PROGRESSIVES GRAND ALLIANCE (APGA), NIGERIA , view the General’s speech as lacking specifics on the welfare of Nigerians, which ignorance led to his downfall as Head of State 31 years ago. What empty rhetoric when the general reads that:

“In reforming the economy, we will use savings that arise from blocking these leakages and the proceeds recovered from corruption to fund our party’s social investments programmes in education, health, and safety nets such as free school meals for children, emergency public works for unemployed youth and pensions for the elderly.”

APGA views the above as such empty solicitation. Nigerians have heard such repeatedly and know it has not worked, but only breeds further brazen corruption, neglect, unfulfilled promise, and broken lives.

Also, Rtd., Major General Buhari’s dictatorial and draconian rule which he acknowledges, are not something Nigerians want to relive 31 years later. Nigerians, nay his military friends have moved on from General Buhari’s stint, and nobody wants a repeat.

The General should really bag it, and rest at home.

Because, at the ALL PROGRESSIVES GRAND ALLIANCE (APGA), NIGERIA, we remain our brother’s and sisters’ keepers, and do not relive past and traumatic regimes.

The ALL PROGRESSIVES GRAND ALLIANCE (APGA) NIGERIA, reminds our electorate to please, Vote for APGA candidates for the Governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly.

Vote President Goodluck Jonathan for President.

Let’s move on with a progressive Nigeria.
