SOME leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State whose names were listed among those alleged to have defected to the opposition party have come out to debunk the claim.
The Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state, Hon. Banji Okunomo in Akure displayed a letter written to the party by one of the supposed decampees ,Mr Segun Adagunodo denying his reported move.
Also, a former Commissioner in the state also mentioned as having defected, Chief Akin Akingbesote has also denied the report.
Akingbesote who denied the report said at no time did he discuss with anybody that he was going to leave the party.
The former Commerce Commissioner added that he was thoroughly embarrassed by the report and thus urged his followers to disregard the information which he attributed to the handiwork of desperate politicians.
On his part Mr Adagunodo said that he never at any time contemplated leaving the party and vowed to take appropriate action to know why and how his name got into the controversial list.
Also speaking Okunomo said that some members of the party whose names were also mentioned in the list have visited the party secretariat to refute the claim.
The Publicity secretary added that most of the names on the list are those of absentee Politicians who at various times held political positions in the state either as Commissioners and aides at various levels.
