TALLEST TRADITIONAL GONG (AGOGO) SET TO BE OFFICIALLY UNVEILED on 31st December, 2014

It has become a norm for the world to celebrate the new year countdown as celebrations are held in the major capital cities of the world amidst scintillating fireworks display as the party takes to the skies followed by major performances by top musicians as the new year rolls in i.e. in New York, Tokyo, London, South Africa, Australia etc
A couple of years ago Nigeria and in particular the metropolitan city of Lagos joined the countdown festivities from the bar beach with an array of stars and colourful fireworks, making the bar beach a focal point for the New Year festivities.
A lot of kudos must go to the Lagos State Government led by Governor Babatunde Fashola for the great initiative but guess what, the originality is not ours, the question remains as to what we can bring to global table that is original and unique to our culture as Nigerians, the truth be told we cannot beat the Europeans and Americas or Chinese at what they know best there own game.
Laface pointed out that it becomes imperative for us to think, be creative, and dig deep, there is a need to create a new year countdown that is synonymous to our culture, a major tourism earner thus creating a major spectacle for the whole world and at the same time break world records as the new year rolls in.
The State of Osun (Ipinle Omoluabi) led by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in collaboration with Laface Entertainment and Plus One media as contrived to captivate the world as they unveil the tallest traditional Gong (Agogo) amidst culture and dance ensemble as a major highlight of activities celebrating the countdown festivity.
History takes us back to the use of the traditional gong (Agogo) in the Yoruba kingdom as a means of communication in the village square, as the people gather to listen to the kings message bearer.
Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola,the people of Osun, Africa and the entire world will witness historical Yoruba culture and finesse as the traditional gong is colorfully chinned to usher in the new year followed by scintillating and colorful fireworks display as we create a unique blend of culture, tradition, tourism and modern blend.
Transition players will also be offered in the unique Ipinle Omoluabi all encompassing style as the world welcomes 2015 in grand style.
The most populous race in the world, the great Yoruba race will create a unique cultural standard for the entire world to follow while simultaneously breaking the Guinness book of world records by unveiling the tallest traditional gong (Agogo) in the world.
Laface also indicated that this event by all accounts will ultimately become a major yearly culture and tourism initiative as the state of Osun (Ipinle Omoluabi) becomes the Mecca of the Yoruba race and all who wish to usher in the New Year in a unique and symbolic Yoruba Style as Yoruba’s globally begin to see the traditional and spiritual need to usher in the new year in the proud Yoruba State of Osun thus exemplifying Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesolas global vision.
The dress code to the event will be Native to symbolize the rich Yoruba Culture and race and Venue is the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park.
