Stop Sleeping Around Mrs Fayemi Advises young Ladies

The wife of the Ekiti State Governor and Chairperson of the Ekiti State Gender Based Violence Management Committee, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, has encouraged undergraduate students in Nigeria to embrace decent moral behavior.

Speaking at the launch of “Zero Tolerance for Gender Based on Campuses”, which held at the Ekiti State University main campus, wife of the governor cautioned students against reckless sexual desires.

She stressed the need for young Nigerians to uphold good moral behavior by cultivating positive and non-violent male-female relationship.

At the event attended by principal officers of the institution led by its Vice Chancellor, Professor Patrick Aina and Ekiti State Gender Based Violence Management Committee officials of the Ministry of Women Affairs, Social development and women empowerment, she appealed to youths in the country to eschew violence in every form.

Fayemi appealed to the larger society to also monitor movements and utterances of the younger one in order to serve as check against growing trend of gender violence, sexual harassment, rape or sexual provocation.

Professor Olabisi Aina, a gender expert who is also the Director Gender Studies Centre in the university called for stringent implementations of laws on Gender Based Violence, adding that it is imperative to establish beneficial male-female campus relationship and living a sexually healthy life.

The VC who assured the wife of the Governor to maintain and sustain a Zero Tolerance for Gender Based Violence on the campus added that regular orientation exercise would be organised to help the students develop a decent moral character.
