Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha, has effected a minor reshuffle in the State Executive Council (EXCO) while also redeploying some Permanent Secretaries.
Commissioner for Transport, Barrister Ihukwumere Alaribe, has been moved to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
In the interim, Commissioner for Petroleum and Environment, Prof. Okey Okoro, will be supervising the Ministry of Transport and cover the duties of the commissioner accordingly, pending when a new Commissioner for the Ministry will be appointed.
The changes were announced this afternoon via a statement issued in Owerri by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo.
According to the statement, a copy of which was made available to US, “The Accountant-General of the state, Mr. George Eche, has been moved to the Ministry of Works as Permanent Secretary, while, Mrs. Udogwu S.N. takes over as the new Accountant-General. Mrs. Uzoma Uwandu replaces Mrs. Udogwu S.N. as the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
“E.O. Asonye Igwe moves from the Local Government service commission to the ministry of Internal Resources and Pension Affairs as Permanent Secretary.
“Lilian Asuzu moves as permanent secretary, ministry of Finance to Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Mr. Bona Ibebuike moves from Ministry of Petroleum and Environment to Ministry of Community Government, Culture and Traditional Affairs.
“Dr. (Mrs.) Ijeoma Ekeanyanwu moves from House of Assembly Service Commission to Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Technology. While Mr. Nobert Okoro leaves the Ministry of Works for Ministry of Finance.
“These changes were carried out to ensure optimum productivity and in the overall interest of the people of the state.”
