Watch Imo women sweep PDP Badluck Away

Women numbering thousands yesterday brought commercial and economic activities in Owerri the capital of Imo State to a halt as they protested the just concluded Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  rally that held over the weekend in Owerri.
The aggrieved women with their broom barricaded all major roads in protest to what they call the provocative statements made by the PDP against the Rochas Okorocha-led administration.
They also stormed  the Dan Anyiam Stadium venue of the PDP Rally held at the weekend, as early as 7.00a.m, saying that the PDP leaders had come to the state to provoke and mock the people after mismanaging the state for over 12 years.
The protesters who were chanting war songs and sweeping the streets believed to have been marched through by the PDP leaders, also thoroughly swept the Stadium, claiming to be sweeping away the foot-prints of the PDP leaders and members in the state.
As they swept, they swore that the PDP which they accused of mismanaging the resources of the state for 12 years will never govern the state again.
Addressing Newsmen, the leader of the women, Chief Mrs. Josephine Udorji said the PDP leaders came to remind Imo people of the scars their 12 years of misrule, has left on them expressing surprise that the President could attend such a rally to receive those who have no electoral value again.
She said the protest was informed by the need for the women of the state to tell the PDP in clear terms that they should allow the party that has transformed the state in just a short time to continue,
She said: “we will not fold our hands and watch the same set of politicians that ruined our state come back to power and our massage today as mothers is that they should allow our Governor to concentrate and continue with his good works. We were deceived before but now we are wiser. We don’t want PDP any more”.
Also speaking, Mrs. Getrude Oduka said that they allowed the PDP rally to hold in the first place because the President was in attendance, warning that they would not allow such distraction again in the state.
Addressing the women, the Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development Chief Uche Nwosu assured them that Imo people know their leaders  and would speak loudly and clearly in 2015.
