Information reaching us suggests that violence has been recorded in parts of Osun State during the registration of members of the party. The membership registration commenced today all over the federation but has recorded the splitting of blood in some areas among members of the party who have turned out in large numbers to register.
In Ayedaade Local Government of Osun State, registration has been marred by violence in Orile Owu where it was alleged that supporters of the Chairman of the Local Government, Evangelist Soji Arabambi, have hijacked the registration process and carted away the registration materials. Reports reaching us suggests that fight has broken out in Orile Owu among members of the party in their quest to take control of party machinery.
In Gbongan and Ode Omu in the same Local Government, the registration has been peaceful even though observers recorded anomalies and irregularities. Many intending members are not able to register and registration officials are not present at many registration units.
In contrast however, registration of members in Isokan Local Government is going on smoothly. Many people were seen waiting to be registered.
Apomu town has recorded the largest turnout of members.
Minor violence was also recorded in Ikire, the headquarters of Irewole Local Government. This was however put under control by security agencies.
