No One Can Scare Us With Federal Might, Says Ojudu

Members of All Progressives Congress in Ekiti Central Senatorial district have given assurances of their determination and commitment to continue to mobilise support for Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, whom they described as a performer per excellence.

At a meeting of Ekiti National Assembly Caucus with the APC members in Ijero-Ekiti, representatives of each of the five (5) local governments in the district took turns to pledge their commitment to ensuring the governor’s victory at the poll a second time.

Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, Chief George Ojo, Chief Dele Jeje, Pastor Egbeyemi and Chief Adepoju Adewunmi each spoke on behalf of Ado, Irepodun/Ifelodun, Efon, Ijero and Ekiti West Local Governments respectively.

They assured the lawmakers of massive votes for the governor in their respective domains.

Chief George Ojo, a native of Iyin-Ekiti who spoke for Irepodun/Ifelodun, described Opeyemi Bamidele as a baby-mosquito who informed its mother of its desire to learn how to fly.

According to Chief Ojo, “the mother-mosquito told the baby-mosquito to go ahead. After flying for a while and coming back, the baby-mosquito was full of joy. It told its mother that people were clapping for it everywhere it went. Unfortunately, the baby-mosquito did not know those clapping were only trying to kill it.”

The eight lawmakers had earlier taken turns to address the APC members.

The eight included Senators Babafemi Ojudu, Anthony Adeniyi and Olu Adetunmbi.

Members of House of Representatives in attendance are Bimbo Daramola, Oyetunde Ojo, Bamidele Faparusi, Robinson Ajiboye and Ife Arowosoge.

The Chairman of the Ekiti National Assembly Caucus, Babafemi Ojudu, told the gathering that all the federal lawmakers are solidly behind Dr. Kayode Fayemi in his re-election bid.

Ojudu, who also took time to intimate the people about their ongoing constituency projects such as the Ureje eco-tourism park and Itapaji Irrigation Farming, told the APC members to disregard anything called federal might.

“When we were not in power, we were not scared. No one can scare us with federal might. We have godly might and godly might is bigger than federal might. But we must not underrate the opposition. It is not enough to have the crowd. We must ensure that we register during the forthcoming INEC registration. We must also ensure that we vote en masse,” Ojudu added.

He warned that INEC should not attempt a repeat of what it did during the Delta Senatorial bye-election and Anambra gubernatorial election in Ekiti.

The senator representing Ekiti North, Olu Adetunmbi, spoke on the need for people to protect their votes.

Adetunmbi added that “those in Labour Party are pro-PDP and pro-Jonathan. They are just hiding under Labour Party because they know that PDP is no longer sellable. Ekiti will not go back into slavery.”

Honourable Bimbo Daramola, who represents Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1 (Oye and Ikole LGs), said the forthcoming gubernatorial election is not about the governor alone, but about generations yet unborn.

“Everyone has a stake in this election. This is the time to move forward. Lying politicians will come to you, but tell them you know where you are going. When they come back to meet you at night, tell them to come out in the open. We will be mortally guilty if we don’t leave today in the consciousness of the coming generation. That generation will ask you where you were when Ekiti went back into ruins,” said Daramola.

The four other lawmakers, Oyetunde Ojo, Ife Arowosoge, Bamidele Faparusi and Robinson Ajiboye also urged the APC members to hold on tightly to their territories and not allow the opposition to make inroads therein.
