IT was another day of mourning in Plateau State yesterday.
Five women, five children and four men were killed by unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
The killing took place in Riyom in the early hours of the day.
Eight were killed in Ranchol Village, Sopp Ward, four in Daliam, Tar-Hoss Ward and two in Lo-Ton Village, Jol Ward.
But the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Emmanuel Abuh, said that six people were confirmed dead in the attack.
Abuh added that three men were going to their homes and were attacked and killed by unknown gunmen while a woman and her two children were murdered in cold blood by the same gunmen
He said no arrest has been made and the Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ayeni, has since deployed a team of security men to the areas to curtail reprisal attacks.
The police spokesman called on youths to be calm as the command has commenced investigation into the matter to fish out the perpetrators.
