Nigerian Students search for sex on 2go

IN campuses, there is a new rave. It has little to do with academics but very much with social networking.
It is also Internet-based. The rave of the moment is called 2go. The 2go Package is a fast rising social network that is overtaking Facebook, Twitter, Mozat, Peperonity, and many more. 2go can be used on laptops and mobile phones. Students now use most of their free periods to chat with their friends and lovers on the 2go pages.

2go is a place to meet new lovers and those you once dated, even outside your institution. The site seems to have a lot of negative impacts one of which is the rate at which it helps the spread different diseases. Friends, most especially females, go from one institution to the other  visiting  persons they have chatted with on 2go.  while chatting with *friends on 2go, some ladies, believing they are chatting with a Maga(foolish Man) sometimes demand for money and recharge card.
Male friends also use of this medium to deal with  females that claims be a “biz” girls on campus or are in the habit of “forming” for guys on campus. How they go about it is that the male gives out girl’s username to a boy in another institution to scope (toast) her, while the boy in the other institution has the full details of the girl as given by the guy who set up the whole thing. After a while the girl tends to fall in love and the next thing is to have a date with the guy by visiting him.
A  case as illustrated above is that of Winifred is a beautiful damsel, the choice of every man and a major piece of attraction to all males on campus. Every thing about her was quit exceptional. Her smile magical, looks stunning, movement perfectly rhythmic, speech sonorous and company angelic. She was like a goddess to many guys on campus.
A law student who was in the habit of turning down many offers from guy on her campus, Winifred extended same gesture to a particular course mate of hers. This led to the course mate finding out Winifred;s 2go user name, and decided to set her up with a well famous and rich guy in another institution who happened to be his friend.
As time passed, Winifred fell in love with the guy and went to meet him in his institution and they started having sexual relations. Unfortunately for her, she didn’t smell foul play. On one of the occasions when she went to visit her 2go boyfriend, she met her course mate that set her up at the”boyfriend’s” place. He made jest of her and spread the story around.  That was how she lost her reputation on  campus.
Agali Omoghene  a 400L student of DELSU said “2go package na im sure pass o my broda, any girl that believes that she’s Mr president daughter, just get her 2go username, once that is done,  mission accomplished.” he concluded.
“From social networks, most especially 2go I already have six(6) girlfriends on my campus”, this were the words of Omoaka Austin a student of University of Benin(UNIBEN). A student that doesn’t want his name to be mentioned said,”My girlfriends on campus are from 2go.
Emmanuel Michael had critized investigating journalists for their write-ups against social networks, most especially facebook and 2go. “Once this If they start reading all this, show no go dey for guys again…meaning this girls will not come to visit again. After my exam I already have a 2go girl that is coming from another institution to visit me.”
Most of them on 2go have decided to start calling themselves names like; 2go Akin, 2go Yemi and 2go Wunmi e.t.c. Since all this people are addicted, u meet them online most of the time. The 2go syndrome even community even has its own ranks eg. Novice, Amateur, Senior, Enthusiast, Professional, Expert, Leader, Veteran, Master and Ultimate.
Ultimate seems to be the highest stage of 2go ranks, once you are in ultimate, you don’t need Go credit before you can enter 2go rooms and chat with your friends in the room.
They call themselves course mate but not class mate since there is seniority in 2go ranks i.e Novice and Novice are class mate while Novice and Amateur are not class mate but course mate since the two make use of 2go.
Salami Olushola a student of Oduduwa University, says social networks are places to meet and make friends with new people since this is the era of Globalization , but the youths, most especially students have only made use of the disadvantages.
So bad is the decay that some students have seen the 2go site as a place to advertise  prostitution, as most of them display their naked pictures and messages that read like this “if u are ready for sex chat and for you to see my nude pix send recharge card on this number 0703……. And if you want sex also you must fulfill the first step ,unless I will delete you, if I count ten and you do not comply u will be deleted”.
“2go is a place to meet the dream girl of your life”, this was the status updated by one of a 2go member.
