In his desperate bid to evade arrest and prosecution, a driver, Seun Adenuga, allegedly threw a Federal Road Safety Corps official, Kehinde Adeoye, out of a moving vehicle while on Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos. The road Marshal survived the fall but sustained fatal injuries.
Adeoye was rushed to the hospital by his colleagues and passers by, and is still receiving treatment at the hospital since the incident happened a few weeks ago.
It was gathered that the road Marshal accosted Seun Adenuga over an alleged traffic offence and entered Adenuga’s vehicle in other to arrest him and take him to his office, a practice common with FRSC officials.
While his bus was in motion, the bus driver with his accomplice (who was inside the vehicle) threw out Adeoye, who sustained injuries. The driver’s accomplice immediately took to his heels.
Adenuga, 34, was later arrested and charged at yaba magistrate court with attempted murder. The trial Magistrate, admitted him to bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till 15 August, 2012 for mention. Adenuga the driver is remanded in prison as he has failed to meet the bail conditions.
