PDP Chieftain Murdered in Kogi

The decomposing body of a frontline member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Chief Aliu Raphael Olorunpomi, who was, on Saturday, abducted by five unknown gunmen, who stormed his Happy Hour Parks & Garden in Kabba, Kogi State has been found at Okehi LGA of Kogi state about four hours ago.

Olorunpomi’s son, Segun, who was also a victim of the attack, said the gunmen gained access into the garden by scaling the rear fence.
According to him, “they ordered us to lie down with our faces on the ground. We obeyed them. Then they asked us who were the owners of the cars parked in the lot. We kept quiet and they threatened to kill all of us if we don’t talk. My daddy now offered them the key of his car, urging them not to kill anybody.
“They collected the key and ordered him to the car. They asked him if the car has a security lock and my daddy answered in the negative.
They asked him to go into the car and drove away with him. We have not seen or heard from him since yesterday (Saturday) night,” he further said..But in a message sent to our news room some minutes ago, the family said his body was found beside his vehicle after several days of searching.
From all indication, it’s obvious the assassination was politically motivated since nothing was removed from his car or his person.
